We have provided surveying solutions to major civil engineering projects including: the Olympic Stadium, the Millennium Dome (at the time Britain's largest structure), the Hungerford Millennium Bridge and the Thameslink 2000 bored tunnels leading to the new St. Pancras station. Such projects demand high-order survey control networks that are a prerequisite to the accurate alignment of bridge, viaduct and bored tunnel structures that facilitate railway tack and road systems.
In addition to establishing Control networks, we are often required by Civil Engineering Contractors to provide the precise setting-out of structures and to conduct topographic surveys for the purpose of volume analysis and the movement of earthworks.
The construction of major structures often requires that adjacent building and surfaces are regularly surveyed in order to detect vertical settlement and lateral displacement directly attributable to the construction works. 'Deformation monitoring' surveys require very precise surveying instruments and advanced measurement techniques.
To date we have designed and implemented innovative systems for monitoring London Underground and Railway tunnels, Listed buildings, retaining walls, viaduct arches, buildings, landscaped areas and river foreshores.
